Haiku Poems

                                                      Haiku Poems             by: Canaan Araujo

River
Early morning dew
The soft patter of raindrops
Form a river that rushes by

Eyes
Hard or sometimes gentle
Blue, brown, or green
Have deep meaning vainly hidden but spirited just the same

Surfing
Gliding on light colors of water
Balancing in perfection with grace
Bask in the crowds wild praise

Flowers
The rose is red, a symbol of blood
The tulip is pink, a symbol of bashfulness
The hibiscus, a symbol of life

Emerald Leaves

                                                          Emerald Leaves                  by: Canaan Araujo

Every day, every month, every year, or even every spring,
A new life begins in nature's upbringing
Tall, arched, and sometimes even large
More stunning forms of trees grow both near and very far

Lime green, dark green, and even the purest shade of brown gold
Leaves shine and emit on the strong branch foundations that are eager to hold
Redwoods, aspens, maples, and even the strong minded persimmon,
All have one thing in common........they worship God and lift their branches to him

But even then there is one special tree that captures the knowledge of God's loving eyes and heart
A tree that reminds Him of Himself......steadfast, willing, and never to stray from His gentle gaze,
His lack to be apart
Yes, this tree takes awhile to grow, not like others
But God himself is training that tree to be patient, to wait, and be content with his teaching

This tree is strong like God's love and its roots are God's words,
That he will never leave us like any regular human, mammal, or bird
For this tree is the miraculous oak dependent to hold you up,
Like the angels arms when you fall, or the Savior's steadfast hope

God even placed a jewel which most people would think it was only light,
That this particular jewel would never be anything valuble or worth anyone's sight
But if you study closely you can understand what precious stone enshrouds in this majestic tree,
For it was there all along the glistening, auspicious, and the shining glow of emerald leaves

Music

                                                                   Music              By: Canaan Araujo

Many people know of this popular form of the arts
Which in every way captures many hearts,
It has to do with the guitarra, flute, and clear elegant singing
These things form the feel of music from the strum of the harp to chimes grandly ringing

If you listen closely as the lyre is being played,
Notice that every string, every tune, is striving to keep going and to last the stay
If one watches with intention at the way the piano declares it's magnificence,
And how el cantarin lifts his voice so that his music will reach the glorious heavens

Music is not just playing in a band or singing a song,
For there is more than that and it has been there all along
When a bird gives his voice to God or when the river clashes with rocks,
For that is music too which people have casted away......and forgot

Si, the orchestra has a certain life to it that only the deepest viewers cane sense,
And the violin with it's high pitched notes and strong sound waves that go on and on until the end
But above all there is another kinds of passion, another kind of voice
That elegant form of fantasy in nature......brings music to God and resounding jubilio (joy)

Art

                                                                   Art                by: Canaan Araujo

There is a certain talent which many people possess,
A form of miraculous serenity which has the knowledge to express,
Making every mixture, color, and new beauty stand out
A passion certain people can't stand to live without

When people feel joyful and happy and they hesitate to let the feeling end,
They create another world so mysterious and yet thrilling just with a sheet of paper and pen
When people feel sad and depressed and just want a good cry,
They look to the blending of paint and the luminosity of dye

But imagine if there were no colors to brighten the sea and sun,
Or any shocking wonders of emulsion to share the moods of gracefulness and fun
Imagine if there were no brushes to lightly touch a surface so smooth
And no pigments to mix and create for then the world would be heartbroken and deeply confused

So if you ever happen to glance at a sketch or painting that is hanging on a wall,
And sense the excitement and secret fearing about the painter's mood and awe
If you are ever able to tear yourself away from this conspicuous talent that captures one's heart
So whenever you leave you can say knowingly "that my friends....is art."
